Transform Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments we offer at Atlantic Smiles. These thin, custom-made shells are carefully bonded to the front surface of your teeth to create a beautiful, natural-looking smile.

If you've been hiding your smile because of chips, cracks, stubborn stains, gaps, or slightly crooked teeth, veneers might be the solution you've been looking for. They're designed to match the color, shape, and size that best complements your face and gives you the confidence to smile freely.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin shells—typically about the thickness of a contact lens—crafted from high-quality dental porcelain. They're custom-made in a dental lab to fit your unique smile. Once bonded to your teeth, they become a permanent part of your smile, providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.

The Veneer Process

Getting veneers is a straightforward process that typically takes two to three visits:

First Visit: We'll discuss your smile goals, examine your teeth, and determine if veneers are right for you. We'll also talk about the shade and shape you'd like.

Preparation Visit: We gently remove a very thin layer of enamel from the front of your teeth—usually less than a millimeter—to make room for the veneers. We'll take precise impressions and place temporary veneers while your custom ones are being crafted.

Placement Visit: Once your veneers are ready, we'll carefully bond them to your teeth, making any final adjustments to ensure a perfect fit and beautiful appearance.

Caring for Your Veneers

Porcelain veneers are durable and stain-resistant, but they do require good care. Brush twice daily, floss regularly, and visit us for routine cleanings and checkups. Avoid using your teeth as tools, and if you grind your teeth at night, we may recommend a nightguard to protect your investment.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 15 years or even longer, giving you a smile you'll love for years to come.

Common questions
Will getting veneers hurt?+

Most patients experience little to no discomfort. We use local anesthesia during the preparation visit to keep you comfortable. You may have some sensitivity to hot or cold while wearing temporary veneers, but this goes away once your permanent veneers are placed.

How long do porcelain veneers last?+

With good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Avoiding habits like biting hard objects or grinding your teeth will help extend their lifespan.

Can veneers stain like natural teeth?+

Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to staining from coffee, tea, wine, and tobacco. They maintain their color much better than natural teeth, which is one reason they're so popular for smile makeovers.
