Results & Maintenance
You'll see immediate results, and we'll provide guidance on maintaining your brighter smile for the long term.
Will teeth whitening hurt or cause sensitivity?+
Some patients experience mild, temporary sensitivity during or after whitening, but we take steps to minimize discomfort. We can recommend desensitizing treatments before or after your appointment if you're prone to sensitivity. Any discomfort typically fades within a day or two.
How long do whitening results last?+
Results vary by patient, but most people enjoy their brighter smile for one to three years with good care. Avoiding staining foods and drinks, not smoking, and maintaining excellent oral hygiene all help extend your results. Touch-up treatments can refresh your smile as needed.
Can I whiten my teeth if I have crowns or veneers?+
Whitening gel only works on natural tooth enamel—it won't change the color of crowns, veneers, or fillings. If you have restorations on your front teeth, we'll discuss how whitening might affect the overall appearance and whether replacing those restorations afterward makes sense for a uniform look.
